Since my early childhood, Japanese culture has always been a profound source of inspiration for me. Iconic shows like Sailor Moon and Speed Racer left a lasting impression. However, it was my discovery of the enchanting realms of Harajuku and Kawaii Culture in Japan that truly ignited my passion and led me to find my true calling.
During my high school years, I ventured into entrepreneurship and established Sweetie Cakes, a brand aimed at providing kawaii fashion options for people of all sizes. Within the Western communities, I am regarded as a pioneer and starting a movement among American Kawaii designers.
Even after 12 years, my renowned design "Confetti Party" continues to be sought-after and sold to this day.
At the young age of 15, I achieved remarkable success by winning the BodyLine Fashion Design Contest a remarkable 11 times.
This outstanding accomplishment caught the attention of the CEO and Lead Fashion Designer, who approached me with an exciting opportunity. They entrusted me with the task of designing their website and creating stunning dresses and other products that embodied their brand's vision.
At the age of 19, I had the incredible opportunity to become a spokesmodel for the popular Japanese brand- Galaxxxy Rocks!
My role was to support their efforts in expanding their fanbase in America, and it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of this venture. Together, we created a captivating demo video that left a lasting impression on the company.
In fact, they were so impressed with our collaboration that they proudly shared it on their official YouTube channel.
Through my connection with the renowned Japanese brand Galaxxxy Rocks, their parent company Galaxxxy took notice of my shop products.
Impressed by the designs I created, they expressed interest in purchasing them wholesale to feature in their store located in Shibuya 109—a renowned and highly popular shopping destination in Japan.
It was a tremendous honor to have my designs recognized and embraced by such an esteemed brand and showcased in such a prominent fashion hub.
In 2012, NHK, a renowned Japanese television program, embarked on a mission to showcase Kawaii Rooms from around the world.
Eager to participate, I submitted my own bedroom for consideration.
To my delight, my submission caught their attention, resulting in extensive coverage of my room on the program. It was a truly exciting experience to have my Kawaii-inspired space highlighted and shared with a wide audience through NHK's prestigious platform.
During the same period as the NHK Kawaii Room showcase, I gained recognition as a standout participant in the Pop Otaku Fashion Contest organized by MakoPuri, a prominent J-POP Idol.
Among numerous entries, my submission stood out prominently, as depicted in the image positioned second to the left. It was a thrilling experience to be acknowledged for my unique fashion sense and to have my entry featured alongside other talented individuals.
